Kinesio Taping
Dr. Amy is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP). Kinesio tape is most recognized on professional athletes where you may see bright colors and patterns. This type of taping can help with a variety of conditions and is beneficial for all ages. Kinesio tape helps facilitate healing while supporting and stabilizing muscles and joints. It can be worn for several days which helps prolong the benefits gained during a physical therapy session. It may be used along with manual therapy and exercise techniques during your physical therapy session.
Kinesio taping and wellness visits: Kinesio tape can also be used to support joints and muscles for improved biomechanical alignment and injury prevention. Therefore, taping and education on how to tape can be completed during a wellness visit without a MD prescription if you do not currently have symptoms of an injury.
